ABOUT THE SHOW

On the eve of the 2024 Iowa GOP Caucuses, a skeptical disenfranchised Iowa voter is visited by three apparitions who - with the help of some well-known historical political figures - teach him about the evolution of the Republican party and the importance of participating in the democratic process, no matter how aggravating it may be.  Loosely based on the Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol," "Stooge!" is the sixth - and most absurd! - installment of Robert John Ford's musicals about the first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses.

AUDITIONS

For the Iowa Stage Theatre Company production, auditions will be held in October 2023.  Please check the ISTC website for audition dates and how to sign up.

The musical requires ten actors, nine of which play multiple roles. Unless specifically noted, actors should be cast without regard to gender identity, race, ethnicity, or age.  As the musical is still in development, the roles shown below - in order of appearance and in the scenes which they appear - are subject to change or being reassigned to other actors for staging purposes.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

Rehearsals for the ISTC production will begin in early November.  Rehearsals will generally be scheduled for weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons/evenings.  There will be no rehearsals on December 23, 24, 25 & 26, but actors should be available for all other dates throughout December and during the holiday season.
